Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is a film adaptation of the popular Tomb Raider video game series featuring the character Lara Croft. Directed by Simon West, it was released during the summer of 2001. Lara in the screen role was played by Angelina Jolie.

The film opens with Lara Croft in an Egyptian tomb, she is seeking what appears to be a diamond on a display at one end of the chamber. As she approaches, however, she is suddenly attacked by a large robot. After an intense chase and battle with the robot, she manages to disable it by ripping out key motivational circuits. She then takes the diamond, which is actually a memory card labeled 'Lara's Party Mix,' and inserts it into a laptop computer inside the robot, whereupon it starts playing music. It is revealed that the scene took place in a practice arena in Lara's own home, and her assistant, Bryce, programmed the robot (nicknamed SIMON), to train and challenge her in combat.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a 2005 action/comedy film, directed by Doug Liman and written by Simon Kinberg. The original music score was composed by John Powell. The film stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a bored married couple who learn that they are both assassins hired by competing agencies to kill each other.

The action opens with John and Jane Smith, a couple who have been married for five or six years, attending marriage counseling. There, they tell the story of their first meeting in Bogotá, Colombia, where they met while both were secretly on the run from Colombian authorities. They quickly fell in love and were married. John later states that Jane "looked like Christmas morning" to him on the day they met.

In reality, however, John and Jane are both skilled assassins working for different firms, both among the best in their field, and each concealing their true profession from their spouse. When both are assigned to kill a man named Benjamin Danz (nicknamed "The Tank"), they encounter each other on the job and discover the truth. Both employers ask one Smith to eliminate the other, and each must choose between their personal and professional lives. This personal, emotional struggle continues through the film.

At the peak of their attempted killing of each other (with their house in utter destruction), they wind up with guns in each other's faces. Mr. Smith balks, and lays his gun down. Like him, Mrs. Smith cannot shoot (even when he is unarmed) and succumbs to his love instead; Mr. and Mrs. Smith then engage in love-making and, in essence, reunite and rediscover each other (Mr. Smith later states "We'll have to redo every conversation we ever had.").

It turns out that there is a $400,000 bounty for Mr. Smith and a $400,000 bounty for Mrs. Smith (which is discovered when John's best friend, Eddie - also an assassin - is given the duty of taking them both out). Later, both of the Smiths find out the truth from Eddie, and find that he is also not willing to go after the Smiths.

The Smiths decide they will fight together. They decide to take Danz out of his high-security prison in order to give their employers something they want more than the Smiths. Danz then confesses that he was hired by their employers, who discovered that the Smiths were married and created a joint task force to have them kill each other.

In the final part of the film, the Smiths successfully handle an extended attack by a large number of SWAT-like armed forces, with a long shoot-out and battle inside a home-improvement store.

The film ends at the marriage counselor where they state how much their marriage improved recently.
